I started as an artist with all conceptual art. This piece was one of my first true successes in abstract art. It has the presence of a natural monument carved by powerful forces. But actually I made it. I was able to form and assemble these ingredients into a wonderfully bold, harmoniously balanced and juxtaposed sculpture.

I also have a pretty condescending conceptualization of this piece which is where the title comes from…

aesthetic: 1 (adj) concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty.2 (n) a set of principles underlying and guiding the work of a particular artist or artistic movement.

construct: an idea or theory containing various conceptual elements, typically one considered to be subjective and not based on empirical evidence.

And it’s probably appropriate to say this is a rubric since it’s true and I’m being condescending. It’s a good way to make art for me. I am having fantastic results.
